The History of the Collection
I started collecting WW1 Watches in 1990 when I lived next door to an old jeweller. I popped into his workshop one day and he was breaking these old silver and gold watches down for their case metals. I started buying all his stuff from that day good and bad.
I then was introduced to Richard Marriott Smith of the UK who was and is probably the most knowledgeable person on the subject of WW1 and early timepieces in the world. He sold me his collection and we wrote a book together on the subject..."The Birth of the Wristwatch and its Baptism in WW1". Sadly Richard passed in 2019 a huge dent in my life. RIP Buddy!
Today much of my collection @ 250 quality pieces are from Zenith, Rolex, IWC to Chronographs and some amazing Engraved pieces. Collecting these watches has been a passion for me and I hope to exceed your expectations when you buy from me.
